I am sorry for the delay of this newsletter, but God has blessed the ministry over this past month and I wanted to wait until the website was updated to reflect what has been happening before the newsletter was sent out.  Please go to the “new and improved” website to see the changes…thank you Tammy!

First, we are pleased God has brought another group of children into the ministry.  The orphanage is Eldama Ravine Children’s Village in Eldama Ravine, Kenya.  You can find information about this orphanage on the website.  Please thank God He has brought these children to our attention so we may serve Him by serving them.  We look forward to assisting the orphanage in taking care of the children currently at the Village and expanding the facility to take in more children.

Second, we are officially offering the ability to sponsor a child in Kenya.  This entails a monthly commitment of funds and corresponding with the child on a regular basis.  This not only assists with the physical needs of the child, but also and just as important, lets the child know someone loves and cares for them.  They will come to understand they are not “throw-away” children, but rather precious gifts from God who are being thought of daily by someone who has never met them.  This can, and will, bring them to the point they will understand it is possible to have unconditional love and they will come to know God as the ultimate giver of that love.  You can go to the website by clicking HERE and see the children in need of sponsorship by clicking on the child sponsorship link.  After you have reviewed the child’s information click on the “sponsor me” link which will automatically take you to a secure area to sponsor that child.  Once you complete the sponsorship form you will be sent a color photo of the child and their background along with information on how to correspond with your child and general sponsorship information.  What a blessing it will be to give hope to a child who believes there is none!

Third, we are heading back to Kenya!  God allowed us to start many projects when we were there and we are heading back to continue that work.  Simply showing the children we have returned allows them to have a sense of hope; someone loves them and is looking for nothing in return.  We look forward to bringing that hope and assurance of God’s love to them.  God has also put it on our hearts to work with the African Inland Church in establishing a Bible study program in the local church and within Nice View Academy.  We also plan on doing many more home visits as well as visiting the children at Eldama Ravine Children’s Village to physically inspect the facility and greet the children.  We leave for Kenya August 12^th and return October 27 (God Willing).

Lastly, we continue to need your support.  God has called us to be His feet in this ministry, but we cannot do it without you being the support structure.  Of course we need funds (the current building project to bring in more children at Nice View Academy is now at a stand-still until we receive more funds to complete the last floor), but we also need items such as children’s books, Bic pens and #2 pencils, flip-flops, baseball hats and baseballs to take back with us.  A local company has donated NEW clothing we will be taking back with us.  We are also taking more Bibles (we were asked to bring back more)!

To conclude, thanks for letting me share the excitement of what God continues to do with the ministry.  Thank you for being so responsive and continuing to support this ministry to the impoverished children of Kenya.
