"Where there is true charity, God is present"...This ministry is an outreach to the impoverished and orphaned children of Kenya.  We exist to show them God's love by providing food, clothing, shelter and education.  We do this in a hands-on capacity by working on-site at the orphanages.  Thanks for visiting our website to see how you can help.

Habari Gani Rafiki (How are you doing my friends),

Well, it has been an amazing month.  We now have a potential of four orphanages we will be working with when we head back to Kenya.  You know of two: Nice View and Eldama Ravine.  The other two have been brought to us by God through individuals who knew about their plight personally.  They are Mercy Child Foundation and Mlolongo Care Center.  Both of these orphanages are near Nairobi and consist of approximately 30 children each.  We will be visiting these children when we travel back to Kenya in August and are getting information about the facilities to place on the website.  Both are equally worthy of our support (literally surviving day by day).  As always, it is a matter of funding.  As God provides through you, we will provide for them.

Speaking of providing...some great news.  We have a MATCHING FUNDS PROGRAM for the month of JULY.  A generous donor has pledged to match, dollar for dollar, every dollar that is donated to Saved By God's Grace during the month of July up to $15,000.  They may even go as high as $25,000, but $15,000 has been guaranteed.  With that in mind I would ask you to prayerfully consider what you can do to help us obtain the entire matching funds.  The timing for this generosity is perfect since we are leaving for Kenya August 12 to once again work on-site with the orphanages.

The child sponsorship program is well underway and we have even had sponsors write their child and receive letters back.  We were called from Nice View Academy/Orphanage and told when the first batch of letters arrived the children did not even eat.  They were so excited they did not want to stay in line for dinner, but rather wanted to read their letters over and over.  My friends, for a child to put off dinner is a huge thing in Kenya.  They literally don't know when they will eat again and therefore every meal is precious.  Instead of eating they chose to read letters from their sponsors.  It is true what Mother Teresa said of poverty; the worst poverty is that of being unwanted, uncared for and unloved...these children put off eating to see how much they are loved through their sponsor's letters!  Pray about sponsoring a child and showing them they are wanted, cared for and loved.

We are having a fundraising event in Phoenix, AZ.  If you are in the Phoenix Metropolitan area and are available on July 26 join us for our "Experience Kenya" night.  This will be an evening of Kenyan food, entertainment and fundraising events such as a silent auction.  Magie Kigen, the Director of Eldama Ravine Children's Village, will be there to speak and greet you.  You can get more information and purchase tickets for the event from the website.

Relative to the website, it is totally revamped.  You can now find information about the ministry, the orphanages we are supporting, the children who are available for sponsorship and the items we need to take back with us in August.  You can actually sponsor a child and, of course, donate, right from the site.  It also has a photo gallery which shows pictures of the children and facilities of Nice View and Eldama Ravine (the gallery will be updated extensively once we return from our August trip).  When you get a chance take a look and let us know what you think.

THANK YOU so much for your continued support.  What we do is not possible without it.  As always, we simply ask that you pray about your involvement and move as God leads.  Please remember, God has not "caused" poverty.  We can cry out to Him and ask why He doesn't do something about the children who are dying each day, but...we must be prepared to answer when He asks us the same question.  Have you fed Him, have you clothed Him?  Let's work together to be part of this Scriptural mandate.  Tell others about the ministry and how you participate in assisting impoverished children in Kenya.

Until next time I am...

Serving God with you by serving His children in Kenya,
