"Where there is true charity, God is present"...This ministry is an outreach to the impoverished and orphaned children of Kenya.  We exist to show them God's love by providing food, clothing, shelter and education.  We do this in a hands-on capacity by working on-site at the orphanages.  Thanks for visiting our website to see how you can help.

Dear Friends and Partners,

Have you ever thought about moving to another country? I certainly had not until we were called by the Lord to move to Kenya...or in some sense had I?  This past month has been one of the most hectic I have had in years.  Things come up daily which I have to address because we are leaving the country, not knowing when we are coming back.  There are items I have taken for granted because I would be here to address them later in the week or even the month...I had time.  We have had family meetings on what our children want to happen with our bodies if we die in Kenya (intense with moments of levity).  We have had to put a burden on our daughter Tarrin to assist us in the ministry on an on-going basis back here in the States since we won't be able to handle the "local stuff".  We have cancelled almost all things we had subscribed to (or were simply receiving) including both paper hard-copy items (do you know how much junk you actually get each day in the mail?) and e-mail subscriptions (it costs us to receive an email in Kenya so we would rather pay for emails from friends instead of miscellaneous advertisements)...I could go on.  All this is because we are moving 1/2 way around the world for an unknown time.  Now, my question is this: We all know we will move from this life to the next someday and WON'T be coming back...it will be for eternity...are we preparing for this move?  From the moment we are born we are dying (preparing for a move), but sometimes we don't act like we are doing anything to prepare for it.  We live life with no cares or concerns as to where we will spend eternity.  I would suggest we must live each day as if it were in preparation for our move to our eternal dwelling....because it is.  We must continue to look to the One who will be our conduit to the next life and put our faith in Him, our Lord Jesus.  We must always be prepared to make the trip to the New Country...our home in Heaven!

The first semester of 2010 is over for our 427 children in Kenya. It has been a tough first semester for the ministry and our brothers and sisters in Kenya.  We had a lot of extra expenses making sure all the kids who graduated from class 8 to Form 1 (9th grade) had fees to attend secondary school.  We can't teach Form 1 at Nice View Academy (the orphanage) until the building that is in progress is completed and sending them to another school to continue their education is not free.  With that in mind, food was at a premium, salaries were not paid on time and support here in the States was lacking.  I say this because this is the reality of the situation, but I am always assured God was and is in control and He will provide through His people as He sees fit.  Right now we are looking to you to help us keep the kids fed and educated and assist us in making our move to Kenya in 33 days (yep, 33 days).  If you are able and God has given you providence to do so, please prayerfully consider assisting us in this most needy time by going to the website at www.SavedByGodsGrace.org and making a one-time or recurring monthly contribution...any amount will help.

We are looking forward to being on the ground without time constraints.  With each prior trip it seemed as soon as our feet hit the ground we were "project orientated".  I don't believe this is what the Lord has called us to be, but rather He wants us to be "people orientated".  He has first and foremost called us to present the Gospel to those who have not heard it and secondly, to bring back those who have heard it but have strayed from sound Biblical teaching...He wants us in the people business.  With that in mind, Lord willing, we will begin to bring people together and form a Church (a group of followers of Christ) to worship together and seek our Lord and Savior.  We will begin to establish new relationships with as many people as the Lord brings into our lives and live life with them.  I pray by our example we show them the love of Jesus and the power of the Gospel in action.  I look forward to moving as the Holy Spirit leads to speak into the lives of those He brings to us...sharing their joy, pain and future hope.  With this relationship I pray men will become men of God and bring their families to participate in the Church and become believers in the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ...for His glory and their good.

Our contact with you will be the website and email.  We will be keeping the blog up to date daily...not sure with what, but with something.  We will be able to access email and hope to hear from you as you remember us to the Lord and in passing to your friends and neighbors.  On the website we will present needs and let you know how you can assist us.  And as always, if you believe God is calling you to Kenya, you have a home to stay at while you see for yourself the wonders and blessings of His call which He has placed on our lives for His glory and the good of those He has called us to serve.  Remember my friends; life is all about His grace.  We are simply a creation made to give glory to the Creator and our lives are meant to reflect that glory no matter what we are called to do.  Live in the Holy Spirit, seek God daily, and give your lives to Jesus who makes all things new.  Mungu akubariki (God bless you).

Serving the children of Kenya with you only through His grace,
